The Beautiful Follow-Up! - New Switchfoot Album, 'Nothing Is Sound,' Debuts at #3 on Billboard 200 Bestselling Albums Chart
The San Diego-based rock band Switchfoot has just debuted at
#3 on the Billboard 200 bestselling albums chart with true first week's
sales of 131,000, marking the band's best week's sales and highest
charting album position to-date. The group's previous album, the
double-platinum smash The Beautiful Letdown, peaked at #16 on the
Billboard 200.
Nothing Is Sound, the band's fifth studio album,
features the radio hit, "Stars," a #1 Most Added record at Modern Rock
radio and a #1 Bubbling Under - Hot 100 Singles record. "Stars," the
first single from Nothing Is Sound, is currently climbing a variety of
charts including Adult Top 40 (#26), Rock Airplay (#39), and Modern
Rock Tracks (#16). "Stars" is currently #4 on Blender's "Most Popular
Songs In America" chart.
Nothing Is Sound is available as both a
traditional CD and as a DualDisc featuring the entire album in 5.1
Surround Sound plus exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the band
on-the road and in the studio.
Switchfoot will celebrate the
release and success of Nothing Is Sound with a special appearance on
the CBS "Early Show" on October 1.
The new Switchfoot album
arrives two years after the release of the group's major label debut,
the RIAA double-platinum The Beautiful Letdown, which yielded two Top 5
hit singles, "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move," and has
SoundScanned more than 2 million units in the US.
Since
the release of The Beautiful Letdown, Switchfoot, whose transcendent
live performances are legendary among the group's intensely loyal fan
base, has sold more than one million concert tickets worldwide while
the group's two long-form videos, "Live in San Diego" and
"Switchfootage," have each been certified RIAA platinum.
Fans of Switchfoot can catch the band live on the Nothing Is Sound tour kicking off October 17 in Ventura, California.
