“Live From Faithful Central – Zion Rejoice” Warning. Listening to “Live From Faithful Central – Zion Rejoice” may make you want to jump up and dance.
The latest offering from the Inglewood, Calif., church is an uplifting concert CD that is all about the praise, and at the least will get your toes tapping and your hands clapping. Hip musical arrangements that merge soul, funk and call-and-response gospel, and high-quality production elevate this disc to a top spot in the live concert-recording pack.
The reverent “Welcome” invites the Lord – as well as listeners – into an exciting session of praise and worship that renews and invigorates the spirit. An amalgamation of uplifting vocals, pulsating rhythms and bold horn work creates a festive atmosphere on “We’ve Come to Worship” and Latin-flavored “We Sing Hallelujah.” Title track “Zion Rejoice” kicks the praise party up another notch, encouraging you to check your worries at the door and seize some of the joy.
The emotional crescendo peaks with the soul-stirring, extravagantly produced “In This Place” and “Holy Holy Is the Lord,” giving another reminder that the real star of this show is Jesus Christ.
“Live From Faithful Central – Zion Rejoice” is definitely worth a listen for gospel choir fans. This is one CD that can be enjoyed for years to come. |
